ABOUT THE TOUR: A 14 days tour including 12 days of riding. An adventurous ride into the less travelled Zanskar valley and into the high Himalayas. On this ride we cross several high mountain passes, ride across valleys, crossing remote villages & monasteries, staying at beautiful camp locations and astounding views of Himalayas. This tour is easily among the best in the World and takes us to the bygone era making us part of the history and preserved culture of high Himalayas.




PLACES COVERED: Manali, Atal Tunnel, Jispa, Shinku La, Purne, Phuktal Monastery, Padum, Karsha Gompa, Pensi La, Rangdum Monastery, Kargil, Dah Hanu, Leh, Khardung La, Lamayuru, Wanla, Sirsir La, Singe La, Zang La   


OPERATIONAL PERIOD: 15th June to 15th September






Day 01: Arrive Manali 

Arrive Kullu airport, meet on arrival and transfer to your hotel in Manali. Morning free. Afternoon we assemble at the hotel for a small briefing about the tour and then we meet our Royal friend – The Himalayan. Later we take you on a test ride to Naggar Castle and Roerich Art Gallery. Ride back to your hotel for a relaxed evening. Overnight at hotel. 


Day 02: Manali/ Atal Tunnel/ Jispa (100 kms)

We start our ride today crossing Sollang Valley and Atal Rohtang Tunnel which at 3000 m is longest tunnel in World above this altitude. We enter Lahaul valley and ride to Jispa riding along Chandra river to Tandi and then crossing Keylong & Gemur villages to reach Jispa. On arrival check in and overnight in tents.


Day 03: Jispa/ Shinku La/ Purne (140 kms)

Today we start our ride to enter Zanskar valley. We ride to cross Shinku La 5091 m and descend down to the valley floor surrounded by towering mountains. We ride along the Zanskar river crossing several tiny villages to reach Purne where we stay for the night in a local camp or a homestay. 


Day 04: Purne/ Phuktal/ Padum (70 kms)

Morning we take a detour towards Phuktal Monastery located in Lungnak Valley and believed to have been visited by great sages & monks since past 2550 years. Monastery is built around natural cave and is among the most photogenic. We park our bikes as the road ends and hike to Phuktal Gompa for the visit. Later we ride back to Purne and then take the road further ahead towards Bardan Gompa and then touching Padum. Rest of day free to explore Padum town or ride to visit Karsha Monastery.


Day 05: Padum/ Pensi La/ Rangdum (100 kms)

Today we ride across Zanskar valley to enter the Suru valley crossing Pensi La Pass (4800 m) beautifully located and Drang Drung Glaciers. We ride along Suru river down to Rangdum which is our camping ground for the night. We visit the Rangdum Monastery and retire for the night in our tents.


Day 06: Rangdum/ Dah Hanu (200 kms) 

We start our ride in morning to Kargil which is main town on Leh Srinagar highway. Lovely views of 7100 m high Nun Kun peaks during the ride, best views being from Parkachik village. From Kargil we ride to Batalik which was the main battle ground during Kargil War and further into the Aryan Valley and village of Dah Hanu, Aryan village. We check into our camp. Later we visit the village, take a walk around and meet some indigenous people who have Greek like features and are believed to be descendants of soldiers of Alexander’s army. Overnight in tents. 


Day 07: Dah Hanu/ Leh (160 kms)

Today we ride along Indus river and enter Ladakh and ride towards Leh town. We visit Basgo Palace, view the confluence of Zanskar & Indus river, experience the magnetic force at Mangnetic Hill. On arrival in Leh, check in at hotel. Later we are free to walk around Leh market or visit Leh Palace. Overnight at hotel.


Day 08: In Leh – ride to Khardung La 

Today after breakfast we ride to the famed Khardung La. It’s a steep ride and within 40 kms we gain 2100 m in altitude to reach Khadung La at 5600 m. Enroute we get lovely views of Leh town, Ladakh and Karakoram ranges. After spending some selfie moments we ride back to Leh. Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.


Day 09: Leh/ Lamayuru/ Wanla (135 kms)

Today we take the Srinagar highway riding to Lamayuru which is one of largest and most important monastery of Ladakh. After the visit we ride to Wanla village where we camp for the night. Overnight in tents. 


Day 10: Wanla/ Singe La/ Zangla (165 kms)

We start early from Wanla on a roller coaster ride to Zangla crossing Sirsir La 4800 m and Singe La 4200 m. We arrive Zangla by evening and camp here for the night. Overnight in tents. 


Day 11: Zangla/ Gombo Rangjon Mountain Base (140 kms) 

We start early traversing our path passing Padum, Purne tracing back our route towards Manali. We camp for the night at base of the holy Gombo Rangjan mountain. Overnight in tents.


Day 12: Gombo Rangjan/ Manali (180 kms)

We start our ascend up towards Shingo La and crossing it enter Lahail valley from where we ride across the valley crossing Jispa, Keylong, Gondla and Sissu to enter Atal Tunnel and finally end our ride at Manali. Check in and overnight at hotel. 


Day 13: In Manali 

Day free to relax in Manali. Engage in some café hoping at old Manali or visit Hadimba Devi temple. Overnight at hotel.


Day 14: Depart Manali 

Intime transfer to Kullu airport to connect your flight back to Delhi.
