DETAILED PROGRAMME
Day 01: Arrive Manali
Arrive Kullu airport, meet on arrival and transfer to your hotel in Manali. Morning free. Afternoon we assemble at the hotel for a small briefing about the tour and then we meet our Royal friend – The Himalayan. Later we take you on a test ride to Naggar Castle and Roerich Art Gallery. Ride back to your hotel for a relaxed evening. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Manali/ Tirthan (110 kms/ 3 - 4 hrs)
Morning after breakfast we start our Motorbike adventure. On your Royal Enfield bikes from Manali to Tirthan Valley. Ride from Manali on NH 21 crossing Kullu town and after crossing tunnel at Aut, we turn to enter Tirthan valley. We ride along Tirthan river entering the valley to our abode by the river bank. Enjoy the gurgling river or ride further deeper into Tirthan valley to explore its scenic views and villages. Overnight at guest house.
Day 03: Tirthan/ Kalpa (220 kms/ 8 hrs)
We start our ride in morning, climbing up and crossing over Jalori Pass from where on a clear day a long necklace of Himalayan Range can be viewed including peaks of Kullu region like Deo Tibba, Hanuman Tibba etc. We now descend down towards Satluj valley. We ride crossing Rampur and continue riding Satluj valley, entering Kinnaur and head to Recong Peo the main town of Kinnaur region and climb up to Kalpa village. Kalpa village is located in backdrop of Kinner Kailash mountain range. On arrival check in and overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Kalpa/ Nako/ Tabo (190 kms/ 8 hrs)
Another day of an interesting ride. Its exciting riding the narrow Satluj valley till Khab where Satluj river meets Spiti river and this points is also the reference where we enter the Spiti valley. We ascend upto Nako village, the last among Kinnauri villages located on banks of a small lake. We walk around village and later continue further towards Tabo. Tabo monastery was founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. The largest monastic complex in Spiti, the old section has 9 temples, 23 chortens, a monks chamber and a nuns chamber. There are several caves adorned with frescoes and contemporary structures too. In trans Himalayan Buddhism, Tabo’s sanctity is next only to Tibet’s Tholing gompa. Overnight at Guest House in Tabo
Day 05: Tabo/ Dhankar/ Pin Valley/ Kaza (105 kms/ 06-07 hrs)
Today we ride around Spiti valley, exploring the mesmerizing landscape, varied colors of mountains and remote villages & gompas. We start our ride in morning towards Dhankar village & monastery. This Monastery at Dhankar rests high over the valley and is a stupendous example of local architecture. It is regarded to have once been a fort and was also the residence of the ruler of Spiti – the Nano. We ride further towards Pin Valley, the land of Ibex and Snow Leopards. We end the day on reaching Kaza, the main town of Spiti valley. Evening free to explore Kaza town and make some noise “ride hard, party hard”. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Kaza/ Chandertal (117 kms/ 4 – 5 hrs)
Morning we ride to visit Comic which is among the World’s Highest permanently inhabited village and then later visit Hikim boasting of World’s Highest Post office & Langza village located in backdrop of Chao Chao Kang Nilda Peak. Later we head for Chandertal crossing Chichim Bridge which is the highest Bridge in Asia. What a ride is going to be from here onwards, hold your breaths to ride into the Himalayas. From Chichim we ride towards Losar which is the last Spiti village and from here start the ascend towards Kunzam Pass (4558 m) which lies on main Great Himalayan Range. We get beautiful views of CB ranges and continue further towards Chandertal Lake (The moon lake – 4270 m) which is of exquisite beauty between a lower ridge and the main Kunzum range, the outlet being into Chandra river. We check into our camp and after a brief rest, start our walk towards the lake which is about an hour away. Enjoy the beauty of lake and after spending sometime, we walk back to our camp for overnight.
Day 07: Chandertal/ Chatru/ Jispa (116 kms/ 6 hrs)
Morning we start our ride from Chandertal lake for yet another breathtaking day of charming scenic views and exciting rides. We ride through the trans Himalayan region crossing Batal, Chatru entering into Lahaul valley. From Gramphoo we continue through Lahaul valley crossing several village likes Sissu, Gondla, Tandi, Keylong, Gemur to Jispa. We check in at the camp for overnight stay.
Day 08: Jispa/ Shinku La/ Padum (190 kms/ 8 – 9 hrs)
Today we start our ride to enter Zanskar valley. We ride to cross Shinku La 5091 m and descend down to the valley floor surrounded by towering mountains. We ride along the Zanskar river crossing several tiny villages to reach Purne and from here further to reach Padum by evening. The ride today involves riding in a narrow valley with towering mountains on both sides with enchanting views. On arrival and check in at hotel.
Day 09: In Padum
Today we spend the tine exploring and riding around Zanskar valley visiting a few villages and old monasteries like Karsha and Zangla Fort.
Day 10: Padum/ Kargil (220 kms/ 8 hrs)
Today we ride across Zanskar valley to enter the Suru valley crossing Pensi La Pass (4800 m) beautifully located and Drang Drung Glaciers. We ride along Suru river down to Rangdum where we visit the monastery. We continue onwards to Kargil enjoying lovely views of 7100 m high Nun Kun peaks during the ride, best views being from Parkachik village. Reach Kargil and retire for overnight in your hotel.
Day 11: Kargil/Leh (220 kms/ 6 hrs)
Morning after breakfast leave for Leh, enroute crossing Giant Buddha at Mulbek, visit Lamayuru, the oldest Monastery of Ladakh and watch the spectacular Moon like landscape unfold around you as you depart from Lamayuru monastery. Continue to Leh enroute viewing confluence of Indus & Zanskar river, Magnetic Hill, and Pathar Sahib Gurudwara. Arrive Leh & check in the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Leh/ Nubra via Khardungla (130 kms/ 6 hrs)
Today after breakfast at your hotel ride to Nubra valley via the famed Khardungla pass (5600 m), which was once the highest motorable pass in the world. Later ride to Nubra valley, take photoshots enroute. The natural home of double hump bacterial camel and famous old silk route, enjoy a small camel ride at the sand dunes. On arrival check in at camp. Evening explore Hunder village. Overnight stay at camp at Hunder.
Day 13: Nubra/ Shyok/ Pangong Lake (140 kms/ 5 hrs)
Today after breakfast we leave for yet another mesmerizing ride to follow Shyok river to reach Pangong Lake (4250 m). Arrive Pangong, which is the highest salt water Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake. Overnight in camp.
Day 14: Pangong/ Thiksey Monastery/ Shey Palace/ Leh (160 kms/ 7 hrs)
After breakfast we leave Pangong and start our ride towards Leh town crossing over Chang La (5160 m). Enroute we also visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace to reach Leh. On arrival check in at hotel. Rest of day free and overnight at hotel.
Day 15: Leh/ Tanglang La/ Sarchu (253 kms/ 8 hrs)
We bid adieu to Ladakh and ride till Upshi where we leave Indus valley and start our ride up to Tanglang La Pass (5328 m). From here we ride to Moore plains which is a vast expense of 50 kms of flat land and crossing it start our roller coaster ride crossing Lachung La (5065 m) and Nakila La (4800 m) to reach plains of Sarchu, where we spend our night in tents under stary sky.
Day 16: Sarchu/ Baralacha La Pass/ Keylong (107 kms/ 4 hrs)
After breakfast we start our climb upto Baralacha La Pass (4800 m) located on the main Great Himalayan Mountain range and a trek following CB range leads one till Chandertal Lake from here. We ride down to Lahaul valley touching the first village Darcha and crossing Jispa to end the days ride at Keylong. Rest of day free to explore the small town at your own pace. Check in and overnight at hotel.
Day 17: Keylong/ Udaipur/ Killar (135 kms/ 6 hrs)
Post breakfast we start our ride into Pattan valley and crossing villages to reach Trilokinath Temple which is revered alike by Hindus & Buddhist of the region. We ride to Udaipur to visit beautiful wooden Pagoda temple of Mrikula Devi temple. From Udaipur we start our exciting ride to Pangi valley, the road is along Chandra Bhaga river and perched & cut across high on cliff. This road is also famously known as The Death Road among travellers. Pangi is a remote valley tucked inside Himalayas and still remain untouched and infrastructure here is basic. We reach Kilalr the main village of Pangi valley and spend our night in a basic guest house.
Day 18: Killar/ Sach Pass/ Chamba (160 kms/ 7 hrs)
Early in morning we start our ride to Chamba town from Pangi. From Killar we ride down to valley floor from where we start ascend through thick woods up towards Sach Pass, a steep and treacherous ascend. We cross the tree line and drive in barren rocky surroundings up to Sach Pass at 4414 m. We pay our respect at the temple at the pass and descend to its meadows which are full of numerous Himalayan flowers in July August. We continue our drive down the mountains passing lush green villages like Bairagarh, Tissa and many others to reach Chamba town located on banks of Ravi river. Check in at hotel. Later visit Laxmi Narayan temple and local market. Overnight at hotel.
Day 19: Chamba/ Dharamshala (190 kms/ 5 hrs)
Today we start our day with a climb to Jot from where we ride down to Kangra valley and following a highway reach Dharamshala. Dharamshala a famous hill station in Kangra valley is also home to the Tibetan refugee community and is home to His Holiness The Dalai Lama. Evening we explore Mc Leodganj visiting Bhagsunag temple, St Johns Church in the Wilderness and Dalai Lama temple. We spend some more time walking around the colourful Mc Leodganj market before heading back to our hotel to retire for the night.
Day 20: Dharamshala/ Manali (240 kms/ 8 hrs)
Today is our last long ride, we cross Kangra valley riding by tea gardens, lovely villages. We visit 11th century Vaidyanath temple at Baijnath and continue our ride taking a mountain road up to Kandi Galu which is a small mountain pass entering Kullu valley. We follow river beas to reach our hotel at Manali. Check in and overnight at hotel.
Day 21: In Manali
Day free to relax in Manali. Engage in some café hoping at old Manali or visit Hadimba Devi temple and Manali market. If you are left with some more energy ride to Sollang Valley and Atal Rohtang Tunnel which is longest tunnel in World above 3000 m altitude. Overnight at hotel.
Day 22: Depart Manali
Intime transfer to Kullu airport to connect your flight back to Delhi.
